2:00 PM - 3:45 PM
During the solar eclipse, the moon will pass between Earth and the sun, blocking the sun's light. The path will cross North America from? the Southwest to the Northeast and between 2:30pm and 3:30pm it will be visible here in Pennsylvania. Using eclipse glasses, provided by NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, you will be able to view the sun from outside Whitaker Center in downtown Harrisburg. With a magnitude coverage of 92.9%, the sun’s outermost layer, the corona, will be visible to the naked eye - like a glowing ring in the sky!
Before the eclipse’s peak, join NASA Solar System Ambassador, Kristin James, as she discusses the cosmic importance of Solar Eclipses. Learn the science behind this natural phenomena.
