 Sunoco Performance Theater

Outstanding acoustics, beautiful décor, and more than 600 comfortable seats – each with an unobstructed view never more than 65 feet from the stage – make Whitaker Center’s Sunoco Performance Theater the perfect space for your event. The theater features a traditional proscenium stage with optional apron extension, and orchestra pit with mechanical lift and technical equipment, including facilities for video and film, as well as use of our Green Room and dressing rooms. With the Broadway-sized stage and fly space, and professional light and sound, the Performance Theater accommodates local Resident Companies, nationally touring productions and multi-media presentations, delivering an experience and atmosphere unlike any other theater. Capacity: 700

Base Meetings Package 
$1,900 - $2,250 

Includes  theater rental for 6 hours, up to 6 hours stagehand labor and production manager time and up to 4 hours of house manager time, house security, podium and microphone, 2 tables and 10 chairs, housekeeping, general house lighting and in-house sound system.

Catering services available at an additional cost.


Base Performance Package         
$3,895 per day  (Mon-Thurs & Friday until 5PM)
$4,095 per day (Friday Evening, Sat, & Sun)

Includes  theater rental for up to 10 hours (8 hours theater time plus 2 hours to load in/out) including front and back of the house, Green Room, 2 dressing rooms and use of the loading dock, up to 24 hours stagehand labor (does not include specialized lighting or sound technicians), up to 10 hours production manager time on the day of the show plus 2 hours for advance time, up to 10 hours of house manager time on day of show, house security, podium and microphone, housekeeping, general house lighting and in-house sound system.


Production Regulations and Technical Specs
Whitaker Center provides a professional technical staff that will help you make all arrangements concerning load-in, load-out, lighting/sound requirements and stage set-up. It is imperative that we know your technical needs in order to provide the proper personnel and equipment for your event. Please contact the Production Manager to review the technical rider for your event or discuss other technical requirements at least one month in advance of your event.

Select Medical Digital Cinema

Delivering the ultimate film experience on the area’s largest movie screen, with a variety of new films each year and a film library with more than a dozen features for private screenings, Harrisburg’s exclusive Select Medical Digital Cinema is a unique venue that is perfect for your special event. This six-story 200 seat theater features a powerful 12,000 watt surround sound system. Including adjacent reception space and the opportunity to book a private screening for your group, Select Medical Digital Cinema is ideal for almost any company event. Capacity: 200 guests

Digital Cinema Exclusives and Meetings on the Big Screen

Includes use of cinema lobby. Concessions stand can be staffed at the request of the client. The digital cinema is generally unavailable for daytime rentals/meetings from early March through mid-June due to heavy school field trip traffic, however schedules can be accommodated with advanced notice.

Cinema seats up to 200 people. Rental period will vary depending on the type of event (meeting vs. movie screening). Digital projector can accommodate live streams, PowerPoint presentations and gaming consoles. Laptop computers and other equipment that can be plugged in to the digital projector should be cleared by Whitaker Center at the time of booking.

HARSCO Science Center

Featuring three floors of imaginative, engaging exhibits, HARSCO Science Center is a fun, interactive and unique venue for your event. The newly opened Forces of Nature gallery features Science On a Sphere® display. This permanent exhibit gallery also includes a touchable tornado and a Hurricane Chamber. Various traveling exhibits are also featured throughout the year in the Science Center’s Gloria M. Olewine Gallery. After hours, the Science Center opens its doors for private receptions and gatherings. Capacity: 800 for a reception; the individual halls/levels hold 200-350 guests.

Includes a 4-hour rental. Catering services available at an additional cost. 



Kunkel Gallery

One of the most dramatic spaces in Harrisburg, Kunkel Gallery’s gorgeous 100 ft. ceilings, one-of-a-kind lighting and easy accessibility make this a premier event location. This attractive lobby area is located on the Arcade Level of Whitaker Center, and can be isolated from other activities or easily combined with adjacent spaces to accommodate large social events. This space is available for day and evening meetings, luncheons, receptions, or any special event.     



Capacity: 225 for receptions; 140 for banquet—depending on number of tables used in set up.

AMP Grand Lobby

This architecturally exciting space is located in the heart of Whitaker Center, in an open lobby location that can be combined with Sunoco Performance Theater as an area for a reception, dance or other social function. The beautiful terrazzo floor makes this an ideal area for dancing.



Capacity: 214 for receptions; 120 for banquets—varies depending on number of tables used in set up.

Stage Two

This intimate black box theater offers privacy to you and your guests on Whitaker Center’s Lower Level.  Stage Two is the perfect space for lectures, classes, sit-down receptions and dances.



Capacity: 142 for receptions; 125 for theater events; 75 for banquets—varies depending on number of tables used in set up.

Rates starting at $640 and do not include labor or production expenses.
