Halloween at Whitaker

Celebrate Halloween at Whitaker Center with our MAD SCIENTIST Trick-or-Treat Trail!

Experiments | Crafts | Treats | Free Movie

Join us on October 28, 2023 from 9:30 am-11:45 am (timed entry) to walk through our indoor Trick-or-Treat Trail, sponsored by Whitaker Center and M&T Bank. The trail will includes various eerie experiment stations hosted by great scientists who have now GONE MAD including:

  • Specimen Viewing hosted by Charles Darwin

  • Lava hosted by Ruth Benerito

  • Jumping Ghosts hosted by Scientist Ben Franklin

  • Make-and-Take Rockets hosted Mary Jackson

As part of the trail, we will also be hosting Halloween-themed Scratch Coding and Minecraft!

PLEASE NOTE: Pay careful attention to which entry time you purchase as we will be strictly adhering to those times. If you miss your entry time,  you cannot enter during another time.

There will be  Treat Stations generously sponsored by Hershey's!

We are also offering  a FREE viewing of “It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown”  in the Select Medical Digital Cinema with your timed entry.

Additionally, there will be a Craft Station sponsored by Better Homes and Gardens!

Tickets are $5 per child (children 2 and younger are free).  This ticket is for admission to the Trick-or-Treat Trail ONLY. It does not include Harsco Science Center admission. Exhibits will not be open for exploration during this event.  All children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.  Space is limited. 

Please note: Whitaker Center will be closed for this special event on October 28 from 9:30 to 11:45 am, but will be open to the public from 12:30  to 3 pm. Please enter through the 3rd Street entrance on this day ONLY.

Things to Remember:

  1. Candy may contain peanuts, so please alert a staff member if you have allergy concerns.

  2. The event will take place inside Whitaker Center. The walk-through experience will last about 30 minutes per family.

  3.  Please pay careful attention to which entry time you purchase as we will be strictly adhering to those times. If you miss your entry time,  you cannot enter during another time.
