Whitaker Center Summer Camps offer exciting programs for Grades Pre K–12, blending fun and learning in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM)!

Jr. STEAM Camp

WEEK 1: July 7 – 11

Art of Science

It is time to create, play, and imagine. Campers will explore the world of vision and sound and create their own works or art. This week will be full of vibrant colors and exploring shapes tapping into the creativity of every young artist.

Spaced Out

From Earth to the edge of the universe, there is so much to explore. Campers will ponder what they see in the nighttime sky and create art inspired by space. This week will both engage and excite our youngest campers, sparking their curiosity about the cosmos.

Anatomy Adventures

This camp is all about body systems! Young minds will have fun exploring what happens to the food we eat and what makes our hearts beat faster. From the brains in our heads to the muscles in our toes, this camp will delve into  the systems of our bodies and how they work together to keep us healthy.

Animal Atlas

Animals are everywhere. In this camp, adventures abound as campers discover new habitats and the special creatures that inhabit them. Each day campers will think about the special features that make animals well suited to where they live. Plus there will be games and crafts inspired by animals, making the week both fun and educational.

SInce the sun is at the peak of its 11 year solar cycle in 2025, this summer is the perfect time to get to know our closest star. By the end of the week the campers will be ready to take off with NASA. This camp is perfect for any child who wonders about what lies beyond Earth.

Innovation Camps

Grades 3-5

TechTastic Art

Join us for an exciting summer camp where creativity meets technology! Designed for 3rd through 5th graders, this immersive experience introduces campers to the world of digital art and design. Through hands-on activities, they’ll explore graphic design, animation, and digital illustration using kid-friendly tools and software. Content Creators

Tech Titans: LEGO Robotics & Minecraft Coding

Designed for students in grades 6-8, this camp offers a unique blend of cutting-edge technology and creative problem-solving. Mornings at camp are spent diving into the world of LEGO Spike Robotics. Campers will build, program, and compete with their own robots, developing critical thinking and teamwork skills while having a blast with this innovative platform. In the afternoons, campers will step into the immersive world of Minecraft Education. Musical Theatre Camps

Aladdin Kids

Come on a magic carpet ride at Whitaker Center this summer. Based on the iconic animated film, with an Academy Award-winning score by Alan Menken, Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, Disney’s Aladdin KIDS will send audiences soaring on a flying carpet ride filled with romance and adventure.

Beetlejuice JR

It’s our show now, kid. The ghost-with-the-most comes to the stage in Beetlejuice JR., the frightfully funny musical based on the beloved motion picture turned Broadway phenomenon. Lydia Deetz is a strange and unusual teenager, still grieving the loss of her mother and obsessed with the whole “being dead thing.” Lucky for Lydia, she and her father move to a new house haunted by a recently deceased couple and Beetlejuice, a delightful demon with a real zest for life. When Lydia calls on Beetlejuice to scare away anyone with a pulse, this double-crossing specter shows his true stripes, unleashing a (Nether)world of pandemonium.

Legally Blonde JR.

Girls in STEAM Camps

(4-Day Camps)

Grades 3-5

Week of June 23-26

Girls in STEAM camps help young women explore the different areas of STEAM: Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. This experience, including hands-on and engaging activities, encourages girls to learn new things about the world around them and discover fields that they may have previously been unexposed to.  Topics include chemistry, physics, technology applications, and the environment. Both camps will focus on similar topics, but have been grouped by grade level to ensure that the girls get the maximum experience.

Week of August 11-14

Camp Registration & Enrollment

Summer camp registration will open up on February 7, 2025 at 10 AM!

Step 1: Register & Pay

Choose the camp(s) that your child wishes to attend from the dropdown options above or using the 2025 Summer Camp Packet. You will be directed to our Agile ticketing platform to complete payment. Payment is due at the time of registration.

Step 2: Enrollment Form

After registering and paying for your camp through Agile, you will receive an email from the camp director with your next steps. This will include completing an enrollment form that must be returned within 2 weeks to retain your registration.

**Families that don’t complete the enrollment form within 2 weeks may lose their registration if the camp is filled. Camper will not be allowed to attend camp if the enrollment is not complete AND/OR invoice is not paid.

Scholarships

Summer Camp STEAM scholarships are available to attend STEAM and Innovation camps at a reduced rate. Families that qualify for the Pennsylvania ACCESS/EBT Card are encouraged to apply by completing the full scholarship form. 

*Need-based – must receive state assistance/benefits. Based on available funds. Can only use one (1) week per child, per summer.
