Our Community Days are free events that invite the community to experience Whitaker Center in an open, inclusive way. These seasonal celebrations feature hands-on activities, interactive experiences, and opportunities to explore our spaces together — no purchase necessary (but registration is required).
Space Day 2026

This event is FREE. Registration is required.
Celebrate World Space Week at Whitaker Center! Explore Mission Aerospace, immerse yourself in the StarLab mobile planetarium, watch a cool film, and hear a speech from Astronaut Bob Hines!
Entry to Space Day 2026 is included with Whitaker Center Memberships! No need to RSVP; your spot is already saved. Just show your membership card at entry, and our staff will take it from there!

Adults Night Out

Join us for an out-of-this-world evening exploring our new exhibit, Mission Aerospace! Adults Night Out is your chance to explore the UPMC Science Center after hours; no kids, no field trips, just science, drinks, and a perfectly unconventional evening with your favorite people!
It is spooky season – so Halloween costumes are encouraged! Wear a costume and enjoy $1 off drinks all evening!
