STEAM Experiences Made Accessible

Whitaker Center’s STEM Scholarship Program helps Title I schools bring hands-on learning, discovery, and real-world science experiences to their students.

At Whitaker Center, we believe every student deserves access to inspiring STEAM experiences, regardless of resources. Our STEM Scholarship Program helps Pennsylvania Title I schools bring their students to the UPMC Science Center, Select Medical Digital Cinema, and signature programs like Surgery Live! and STEM Camps at a significantly reduced rate. Scholarships are granted on a first-come, first-served basis.

STEM Scholarship Eligibility & Use

All Pennsylvania school buildings listed as receiving Title I funding during the 2024-2025 school year are eligible for STEM Scholarship pricing.

Field Trips

Eligible schools receive discounted pricing for:

  • Science Center admission
  • Digital Cinema admission

Please note: The scholarship does not cover hands-on labs, lunch, or transportation.

Surgery Live!

Eligible schools receive discounted pricing for:

  • In-person Surgery Live! programs
  • Virtual Surgery Live! programs

Please note: The scholarship does not apply to extension activities.
