OUR ROAR AND EXPLORE COMMUNITY DAY IS SOLD OUT!

We’re opening our doors for a ROARING good time! Join us for Roar and Explore Community Day on Saturday, October 25th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.!

This is a special day of FREE family-friendly fun for you to roam and enjoy our newest exhibit, EXPEDITION DINOSAUR: RISE OF THE MAMMALS, as well as our other exciting puzzles and features throughout the UPMC Science Center, our Select Medical Digital Cinema, and PNC Innovation Zone.

Admission is free, but guests MUST register in advance.

The Nutcracker

Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet has been hosting a Nutcracker performance yearly since 1965. Shortly after starting, CPYB became the only school in the world with the license to perform George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker®.

Each session introduces a new robotics concept through hands-on exploration and creative problem-solving. Richard Thompson

Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter and guitarist Richard Thompson is set to bring his extraordinary talent to the Whitaker Center on February 23! Widely regarded as one of the greatest guitarists of all time, Thompson’s career spans over five decades, blending folk, rock, and traditional British influences into a uniquely captivating sound. Richard Thompson’s musical influence cannot be overstated. Having co-founded the groundbreaking group Fairport Convention as a teenager in the ‘60s, he and his bandmates invented the distinctive strain of British Folk Rock. The Los Angeles Times called him “the finest rock songwriter after Dylan and the best electric guitarist since Hendrix” and Rolling Stone has named him one of the Top 100 Guitarists of All Time.
