Dear Friends of Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts:

The last several weeks have been challenging ones. Like you, all of us at Whitaker Center have been trying to make the very best decisions with information that is rapidly changing. Based on the latest directives from the Governor, we have extended our anticipated re-opening date to March 31, 2020.

When we reopen our doors to the public, Whitaker Center will continue our mission to be the center for scientific, artistic and educational activities to enhance the region’s quality of life and economic vitality. Last year for example, Whitaker Center provided 8,480 underserved children with educational scholarships to attend STEM programs.

Our Mission is Stronger than any virus.

The power of education, science and the arts is more important now than ever. Along with the rest of the non-profit community, Whitaker Center will play a vital role as we rally together and emerge from the current events. Whether it be the local library, a performing arts organization or Whitaker Center, please consider supporting these non-profit groups. Your help will go a long way in making sure our community gets through this and the recovery is swift.

Lastly, we continue to praise and thank the many talented public servants, doctors, nurses, medical professionals and emergency services personnel who are working tirelessly to address this matter of public health.

Thank you for your consideration and support. For ways to contribute to Whitaker Center and updated information, please visit https://www.whitakercenter.org/support-us.whitakercenter.org.

Best regards,
