Give your bike a tune-up and join Whitaker Center for our first Whitaker Family Fun Ride! The 5-mile ride will have a rolling start at the Carousel Pavilion on City Island, then follow the Susquehanna River along Riverfront Park. Following the bike ride, participants are welcome to join in a finish line celebration.

Young riders are welcome to ride two laps around the island if the 5 mile course is too difficult.

Join in the finish line celebration after the bike ride with our WOW Van, music, food trucks, and more! Food and beverage vendors include Coffeeine Unlimited and Grappling Crab Shack.

The event will benefit Whitaker Center’s STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) programs. It will consist of a rolling start (to stagger the participants) with Rest Stops/Water Stops along the route.

Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m., and you can start the route anytime between 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. The Whitaker Family Fun Ride will have a rolling start keeping safety measures in mind. All riders must wear a bike helmet.

Families can park on City Island but will be charged if they arrive after 10 a.m.

July 1st Early Bird Registration

All 6+ riders registered by July 1st will receive a water bottle and t-shirt.

Adult (18+) - $35
Youth (17 & Under)- $20
Kids 6 & under free with an accompanying registered adult participant.
We ask that there is a minimum of one adult participant for every four youth riders.
All Whitaker Center members will receive a $5 discount off of registration.
Visit Recycle Bicycle Harrisburg before the event for a free bike tune-up!
Each registered participant 6 & over will receive a Harsco Science Center voucher for a future visit to Whitaker Center, and a voucher for a free class or open gym at Dexterity Depot in Camp Hill. Visit dexteritydepot.com for more information.
