In partnership with Penn State Health and Whitaker's Women in STEM Initiative, Talks with Docs invites high school students to explore healthcare careers through conversations with doctors from diverse backgrounds. Join us as we talk with Dr. Christiana N. Oji-Mmuo about her education, experience, and any tips she has for students interested in healthcare. While the program is free to attend, registration is required.
Dr. Christiana N. Oji-Mmuo
Dr. Christiana N. Oji-Mmuo is an Assistant/Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine and a board-certified pediatrician. The main focus of Dr. Oji-Mmuo's current research is on early risk assessment of opioid-exposed neonates. She uses physiologic, behavioral, and epigenetic biomarkers to determine those at the highest risk for severe neonatal abstinence syndrome and potential adverse outcomes. In addition, she participates actively in student and trained education and also various Quality Improvement Projects in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
