Become
Part of Whitaker Center STARS Program
As
a STARS participant, you’ll have
the opportunity to:
- Be
introduced to Harsco Science Center,
including all exhibit areas, Discovery
Labs, and Big Science Theatre.
- Participate
in the development and performance of
all kinds of demonstrations and activities
throughout Harsco Science Center.
- Have
the opportunity to serve on focus groups
to provide feedback for improving our
service to educators and school groups.
- Work
with school group and family visitors
in one or more of the nine different
exhibit areas.
- Explore
different areas of science through special
STARS events including workshops, guest
scientist speakers, and field trips.
- Gain
new friends from all around the Harrisburg
area.
To
be considered for Whitaker Center STARS
Team, you must be:
- Between
12 and 18 years old.
- Interested
in science, technology, and arts.
- Excited
about working with people of all different
ages.
- Willing
to commit at least 4 hours per week
for a minimum 4-month period (January-April,
May-August, September-December).
