Building on his 17 year career as the leader of what the Washington Post called, “the best band in late night television,” the Max Weinberg Big Band is a bold, swinging 15 piece arrangement that continues the traditions of some of Weinberg’s personal heroes including, Frank Sinatra and Count Basie.

2010 marked Weinberg’s 36th year performing and recording with Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band. Referred by The New York Times as “the rhythmic backbone of The E Street Band,” Weinberg was most recently featured with the group on the HBO Special, The Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame 25th Anniversary.

Performing on the acclaimed album, Born In The USA, put Weinberg and the rest of his E Street cohorts in the record books as having the biggest selling rock album in history. Though citing his work through the years with Bruce and The E Street Band as, “the attainment of everything a twelve year old drummer from the suburbs of Jersey ever dared to dream,” Weinberg has kept himself busy for nearly four decades, performing with musical icons Paul McCartney, Sting, Bono from U2, and many more.

Aside from performing thousands of concerts in arenas and stadiums all over the world as a member of The E Street Band, Weinberg has also played in the White House with the Navy Big Band, at the Grammy® Awards, on televised Presidential Inaugural Galas, and as a session musician. Weinberg is also the author of The Big Beat: Conversations with Rock’s Great Drummers, which featured a series of interviews he conducted with his favorite drummers such as, Charlie Watts of The Rolling Stones and Elvis’ original, longtime drummer D.J. Fontana.

Presented by Point Entertainment and Greenbelt Events in association with Whitaker Center.
