Following an amazing sold-out show last fall, Whitaker Center proudly welcomes the return of internationally acclaimed violinist David Garrett, for an encore performance in Harrisburg.
Combining years of classical music training with mainstream pop and rock music ─ Garrett’s performances pay unique and equal homage to Metallica and Mozart. His daring journey from classical prodigy to a mature and highly adventurous artist has been personally fulfilling, and also resonates with enormous worldwide acclaim.
Already a huge star in Europe and throughout the Far East, Garrett performs nightly to thousands of adoring fans. On the famous Last Night of the Proms in the U.K., Garrett played to a crowd of 40,000 people, and also appeared at the legendary Royal Albert Hall ─ performing an impressive six concerts in seven days.
Garrett is currently set to conquer a whole new terrain with his first U.S. self-titled release. Aside from being a world-renowned violinist, Garrett is also a global brand ambassador for the clothing company Banana Republic, and has additional endorsements overseas. Dubbed, “the fastest violinist in the world,” by German paper Kolner Stadt-Anzeigere, the incredible violinist will be in the 2010 Guinness Book of World Records, as the fastest-ever performer of the Flight of the Bumblebee, clocking in at a blistering 66 seconds.
