Known for classic hits, including Low Rider, Spill the Wine, The Cisco Kid and Why Can't We Be Friends?, WAR was a musical crossover band which fused elements of rock, funk, jazz, Latin music, R&B, and reggae.
Formed in 1969, the band also transcended racial and cultural barriers with a multi-ethnic lineup. WAR has sold over 50 million records to date. Although the band’s lyrics are often socio-political in nature, their music usually has a laid-back, California funk vibe. WAR now tours over 150 dates a year to audiences ranging from tens of thousands to intimate clubs.
Average White Band (AWB) is widely regarded as one of the best soul and funk groups in the history of music. Best known for their timeless instrumental mega-hit Pick Up the Pieces, the band's strength is within their accomplished songwriting, stretching across several gold-selling albums and multi-Grammy® nominations.
AWB’s latest release, Times Squared, is a follow-up to Soul & The City (2006), featuring favorites recorded live in March 2009 in front of a New York City audience. The band’s current lineup includes founding members Alan Gorrie and Onnie McIntyre, in addition to Klyde Jones, Fred 'Freddy V' Vigdor and Rocky Bryant.
