Whitaker Center offers engaging programming to get girls in grades 4-8 excited about the STEM field. Participants will enjoy and afternoon of discovery during our Girls in STEM Sunday events or dive into a week of STEM activities in one of our Girls in STEM week-long summer camps. Both programs feature hands-on, interactive experiences with activities that teach as well as entertain.
Girls in STEM programs are supported by The Donald B. and Dorothy L. Stabler Foundation.
The following programs take place on Sundays from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm inside Whitaker Center's Discovery Labs and are designed for girls currently enrolled in grades 4 - 8. Each month, we'll explore a different topic! Please note: the dates offered within each month are identical programs.
In order to serve as many girls as possible in our lab, capacity for these events are limited to just students. We apologize, but due to limited space parents and siblings won't be permitted inside the lab for this program.
Cost: Students: $5
Parents are welcome to explore downtown Harrisburg or stay and play in Harsco Science Center for a reduced rate while students take part in the lab program. Parents and siblings of students taking part in these programs save $5 off science center admission on the day/evening of the program. Admission can be purchased at the Box Office.
