Sound and Movement: Human Expression Through Dance and Music

A free program designed to inspire children

January 22, 2017

Showtimes: 12:30pm & 3pm

Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet (CPYB) and Market Square Concerts are collaborating on a new program to inspire an interest in dance and music in the region's school-aged children. Sound and Movement is an interactive educational program aimed at helping children develop a deeper appreciation of the arts.

The first program, Sound and Movement: Human Expression Through Dance and Music, will answer the question "Why does it make me feel this way?" The programs kick off on January 22, 2017, at 12:30 and 3 p.m. at Sunoco Performance Theater. The program will focus on the ways dancers and musicians communicate complex emotions to the audience. Nicholas Ade, Chief Executive Officer of CPYB, and Peter Sirotin, Artistic Director of Market Square Concerts, will explore human expression in different cultures through dance movements and musical sounds.

This program is designed for children ages 8-12 and while admission is free, we strongly encourage guests to RSVP
