Rhythms of the Universe

Free screening in Stage Two!

November 26, 2016
11:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Rhythms of the Universe is a multi-sensory exploration of the universe, a poetic and scientific celebration of humankind's yearning to understand the cosmos, of the vibrations that underlie everything we know. The film was conceived and produced by percussionist/ethnomusicologist Mickey Hart (former drummer of the Grateful Dead, and producer of many world music recordings) and cosmologist George Smoot (Nobel laureate from Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory). The two were allied by their mutual passion for music, physics, and universal resonances. It features narration by Hart and Smoot, along with a shifting collage of music, videos, visualizations, and sonifications created by scientists and musicians and at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Meyer Labs, and Penn State.

This screening is free to the public and will show at 11:30 am, 1:30 pm, and 3:30 pm in Stage Two.

Running time: 22 minutes.
