On Saturday, January 21, at 8 pm, at Whitaker Center, MSC will celebrate its 35th anniversary with a special program “Directors and Friends” featuring the world premiere of Jeremy Gill’s Duo for violin and piano, commissioned by Martin and Lucy Murray in honor of this occasion. MSC directors, Peter Sirotin and Ya-Ting Chang, will be joined by some of their closest friends and colleagues, Fiona Thompson, principal cellist of the Harrisburg Symphony; Michael Stepniak, violist and the Dean of Shenandoah Conservatory; Devin Howell, principal bassist of the HSO; and Geoffrey Pilkington, principal horn of the Washington National Opera at Kennedy Center for a performance of the haunting Horn Trio by Brahms and the delightful “Trout” Quintet by Schubert.
