Johnny Winter and Magic Slim & The Teardrops
January 25, 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM
Known for connecting British blues-rock with American Southern rock, Johnny Winter built a 35-plus year career out of his novel take on blues. After getting a big break in 1968 with an article from Rolling Stone magazine, which praised his album The Progressive Blues Experiment, Winter released two more highly regarded albums before the end of the decade: the self-titled Johnny Winter and Second Winter. His tracks, Frankenstein, Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo, and Boot Hill highlight Winter's, now famous, approach to blues.
